Senthil Balaji cannot continue as minister… Governor approves portfolio change.!
Senthil Balaji, who is the Minister of Electricity and Prohibition, was arrested by the enforcement department two days ago. And the Madras High Court ordered to keep him in judicial custody till the 28th.
In this case, Chief Minister Stalin had recommended to the Governor to change portfolios in the cabinet and to continue as a minister without portfolios for Senthil Balaji.
In this situation, Governor RN Ravi of Tamil Nadu has given his approval to the recommendation to transfer the two departments of Electricity Department and Liquor Exemption Coordination Departments, which were being looked after by Minister Senthil Balaji, to two different ministers.
The Governor has given approval to give the additional charge of Electricity Department to Finance Minister Thangam Thanaras and to Housing Minister Muthusamy the Liquor Exemption Coordination Department.
He also refused to accept the recommendation regarding the continuation of Senthil Balaji as Minister without portfolio.
Senthil Balaji is facing criminal charges and it is not acceptable for him to continue as minister on moral grounds, the governor said.
