Two private buses collide head-on near Cuddalore
Two private buses collided head-on at Melpatambakkam near Panruti in Cuddalore district. It has been reported that 4 people have died and more than 100 people have been injured in this accident.
The police immediately rushed to the spot and rescued the seriously injured and sent them to the government hospital in an ambulance. And it is feared that the death toll may increase as many people are in critical condition in this accident.
Cuddalore District Collector Arun Tamburaj, Superintendent of Police Rajaraman and others are monitoring the treatment work at the Cuddalore Government Hospital.
In the initial investigation regarding this accident, it is said that the front tire of the private bus going from Panruti to Cuddalore burst. Traffic in the area has been affected due to the accident

Condolence and financial assistance to the families of those who died in road accident in Cuddalore district – Honorable Chief Minister Mr. M. K. Stalin’s announcement.
I am deeply saddened to hear the sad news that four people were killed and several others injured in an accident that occurred this morning at Mellapattambakkam village, Nellikuppam Police Station Charakam, Cuddalore, when the right front tire of a private bus going from Panruti to Cuddalore unexpectedly burst and collided with a private bus from Panruti.
As soon as I heard about the incident, I contacted the District Collector of Cuddalore on phone and asked him to go to the accident site and provide necessary rescue operations and medical assistance as soon as possible.
Also, Hon’ble Minister of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare, Mr. M.R.K. I have also directed Mr. Panneerselvam and Labor and Skill Development Minister Mr. CV Ganesan to visit the hospital in person and ensure that special treatment is provided to the accident victims.
Expressing my deepest condolences and condolences to the relatives and families of the deceased in this accident, two lakh rupees each to the families of the deceased, fifty thousand rupees each to those seriously injured and undergoing treatment at the hospital, and twenty five thousand rupees each to those undergoing treatment for minor injuries. I have also ordered to provide from the Chief Minister’s General Relief Fund.
