In this case, Cooperative Minister Periya Karuppan held a consultation with officials at the Secretariat today regarding the possibilities of selling tomatoes at low prices in ration shops.
After this, he met the reporters and said that tomatoes are being sold at low prices in farm green shops.
Also, steps have been taken to sell tomatoes in 82 ration shops in Chennai from tomorrow. Tomatoes are being sold at Rs 60. Tomatoes will be sold in 32 shops in North Chennai, 25 shops in Central Chennai and 25 ration shops in South Chennai from tomorrow, he said.
