The first information report regarding the suicide of Coimbatore DIG Vijayakumar was released.
IPS officer Vijayakumar, who hails from Theni district, took charge as DIG Coimbatore on January 6. After the post-mortem, DIG Vijayakumar’s body was taken to his hometown Theni. There the body was kept at his residence for public tribute.
Then DIG Vijayakumar was paid last respect by Tamil Nadu Police with 21 gunshots. Following this, Vijayakumar’s body was cremated after the last rites were performed at Theni Min Mayan.
