The enforcement department has summoned Ponmudi and his son to appear in person again at 4 pm today

Tamil Nadu Higher Education Minister and DMK Deputy General Secretary Ponmudi’s Chennai and Villupuram residences were raided by the enforcement department yesterday.

Ponmudi, who was Minister of Mineral Resources from 2006 to 2011, was accused of illegally allocating 5 cement quarries, causing a loss of more than 50 crore rupees to the government. Based on that, the enforcement department conducted raids at the places belonging to Minister Ponmudi from 7 am today.

The 13-hour-long search ended at 8 pm when the enforcement officers took Minister Ponmudi to his office in Nungambakkam from his house in Saidappettai.

Officials interrogated Minister Ponmudi and his son DMK MP Gautama Chikamani separately for around 7 hours at the Enforcement Directorate office.

Following this, this investigation was concluded at 3 o’clock in the morning today.

Following this, minister Ponmudi and his son Gautama Chikamani have been summoned to appear in person for further investigation at 4 o’clock today.
