The Chief Justice accepted the Tamil Nadu government’s stand that Annal Ambedkar’s photographs should not be removed from the courts.
The Madras High Court issued a circular to the courts in Tamil Nadu saying that apart from Thiruvalluvar and Gandhi, photographs of other leaders should not be displayed in courts in Tamil Nadu.
Yesterday, Law Minister Raghupathi met the Chief Justice of Madras High Court regarding this matter. Following this, a government announcement has been released. After the news that the photo of Annal Ambedkar will be removed from the courts continued to spread, Law Minister Raghupathi, on the instructions of the Chief Minister M.K.Stal, personally met the Chief Justice of the Madras High Court, Sanjay Vijayakumar Gangapoorwala and discussed the photo of the leaders.
Following this, the Chief Justice accepted the Tamil Nadu government’s position that Annal Ambedkar’s photo will not be removed from the courts and therefore the Chief Justice said that the current procedure will continue, according to the press release.
